The Role 
As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for developing tools and solutions to support multiple environments and teams. You will define and execute processes and methods to deploy, operate and monitor these systems at scale. In addition to tools and automation, your work will involve coordinating movement to the cloud with multiple teams across the organization.  This is an entrepreneurial team where we will solicit our services to many internal business units and ultimately shape the future of DevOps in the organization. 
 

What you'll do: 

  • Brainstorm new ideas and ways to improve development and delivery. 
  • Design and document various processes and update existing processes. 
  • Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments. 
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages. 
  • Automate processes so that engineers can self-service their operational requirements. 
  • Deploy, automate, maintain and manage cloud and on prem systems. 
  • Design and implement turnkey CI/CD using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Containers, and Cloud services. 
  • Design and implement auto scaling environments in multi-cloud environments.  
  • Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of Development, QA, and Production Systems. 
  • Maintain build, release, and configuration management systems. 
  • Help facilitate release acceptance testing by the Engineering teams. 
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains. 
  • Suggest architecture and process improvements. 
  • Evaluate new technology options and products (commercial and open source). 
  • Ensure critical system security using best in class solutions. 

What you bring: 

  • Effective and skilled at communication/collaborating with multiple internal groups and business units located around the world. 
  • Fluent Scripting in Perl/Python, YAML, Bash, PowerShell, JSON, etc.   
  • Linux systems administration experience. 
  • Cloud automation and workload experience (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP) 
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new environments. 
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues. 
  • Understanding of version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of MySQL, Postgres, Casandra, Redis, OracleDB or MongoDB. 
  • Strong knowledge on container solutions like Docker, Kubernetes (+), etc. 
  • Experience with system monitoring tools. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English). 
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to manage without authority. 

Education: 

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
